An example that pertains would be in my school. The teacher was able to recognize that certain colors were unrecognizable by a student. She informed the parents of her observation and they went to see an eye doctor. Sure enough, the child was color blind, thus needing additional support for the student’s disability. Had the observation gone un-noticed, it would have affected him in the long run. Now, there is a special way to go about introducing those colors so the child is able to identify them. Without the test, this observation would have gone un-noticed and the child may have been classified with another disability when they were older for being unable to recognize colors.
Placement and identification tests play an important role in childhood education. It allows the child to learn the information necessary to be a part of the working world and contribute to society.
